Wilde Sau Problems

Wilde Sau tactics had some
important drawbacks for the
single-engined aircraft such
as the Fw190. The Bomber Com-
mand target had to be announced
early, because the Fw190 had
insufficient range to just keep
flying from target to possible
target. The lack of radar meant
that Wilde Sau effectiveness was
limited to the skies above a
well-lit city. Lastly, many Wilde
Sau aircraft carried no direc-
tional orientation or landing
system at all. Thus, when they
were low on fuel, the possibility
of returning to base could become
quite remote.
On this training flight, you will
be hunting for bombers departing
a target. Find and destroy as many
as you can, but watch your fuel!
When it gets low, attempt to re-
turn to base - IF YOU CAN FIND IT!!
<g> Remember - since you have no
radar, you cannot use the map!
