DUEL OVER MALTA

On 28 July 1942, Captain Furio Niclot's
luck finally ran out. CPT Niclot, the
able and respected commander of the
Macchi C202-equipped 151 Squdriglia of
the 20 Gruppo, was dogfighting Spitfires
over Malta when he was shot down, almost
certainly by Sergeant George "Screwball"
Beurling of the No. 249 Squadron based on
Malta.

MISSION

The 151 Squadriglia is on a free fighter
sweep ahead of the He111's of KG 26.
Hopefully you will draw off any fighter
opposition from Malta by arriving early,
allowing the He111s to bomb their
targets without opposition. One of the
opposing Spitfires will be the top ace,
"Screwball" Beurling.

NOTES

Don't get so involved with any one
fighter that others slip past you to
intercept the bombers.
