IN THE SHADOW OF ELBRUS

Erich "Bubi" Hartmann's first combat
mission took place on the 14th of
October, 1942, within view of the
towering Mount Elbrus, bordering the
Black Sea.  Flying as wingman for Master
Sergeant Rossmann, they were ordered to
intercept Soviet fighters and Sturmoviks
that were strafing some German positions
near Prokhladnyy.  His actions were so
poor he was awarded with three days of
duty with the mechanics as punishment.

MISSION

Escort the Il's on their strafing mission
to Prokhladnyy.  Expect to be intercepted
by the elite 7th Squadron of the JG 52.

NOTES

This is a day mission.
